Celebrity’s newest ship is ready to take on her first European season!

Celebrity Ascent arrived in Barcelona on April 27 and embarked on a 9-night sailing to the Italian Riviera and France, kicking off her first season in Europe this summer. Along with this innovative ship sailing overseas, Royal Caribbean Group (who owns Celebrity Cruises) has announced a new partnership with Hard Rock International.

2. Woman in viral TikTok cleans every inch of her cabin before her cruise begins

Have you ever considered bringing cleaning supplies with you on your cruise vacation?

Well, one TikTok user, Niki’s Side of Cleantok, did. She shares with her viewers how she deep cleans her cruise cabin in a viral video. While cruise ship cabins are serviced daily and receive deeper cleanings between sailings, some cruisers opt to do additional cleaning to ensure their cabins are up to their personal standards.

3. A nude cruise is coming to Florida in 2025

There truly is a cruise for everyone!

Norwegian Cruise Line has an 11-night sailing, dubbed the “Big Nude Boat”, for cruisers who only want to bring the bare necessities onboard with them. That is because this is a nude cruise! Of course, as with all cruises, there are still rules that need to be followed. For instance, cruisers must be fully clothed while eating in the ship’s dining rooms and must use a towel when sans bottoms in their cabin, buffet, pool deck, and on excursions.

4. Photo of a cruise ship passenger putting a mattress on their balcony is either genius or dumb

For some cruisers, there is nothing better than crawling into bed to relax.

Though, that doesn’t always mean that the bed is inside of their cabin. A recent photo posted to social media depicts two Royal Caribbean passengers lounging on a mattress that they brought out to their balcony, supposedly taken in March on Allure of the Seas. The photo, taken from the nearby Anthem of the Seas while docked in CocoCay, has garnered mixed reactions from other cruisers.

5. 8 things you might not know about Carnival Cruise Line’s President

Carnival Cruise Line’s President Christine Duffy has been leading a fleet of 30 ships, welcoming more than six million guests annually, since joining the company in 2015.

Carnival Cruise Line, led by Duffy, promised to deliver safe, fun, and memorable cruises to its growing customer base, whether that be to the Bahamas or Europe, and more. 6. Reasons Smart Cruisers Choose to Stay Onboard During Port Days

Cruises are a great opportunity to visit multiple destinations during one vacation.

However, it is important to remember that the ship itself is a destination as well! With days filled with entertainment, food, and activities, there are plenty of experiences for guests to enjoy onboard. Because of these, not all cruisers find it necessary to get off the ship while in port and opt to spend their port days onboard.

7. A norovirus outbreak aboard Royal Caribbean and Princess Cruises ships has left almost 200 people sick

When going on a vacation, the last thing you want to do is fall ill.

Unfortunately, for nearly 200 cruisers onboard Royal Caribbean’s Radiance of the Seas and Princess Cruises’ Sapphire Princess sailing in April, this was the case. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that during the April 5 sailing from Los Angeles, 115 out of 2,532 passengers aboard the Sapphire Princess contracted norovirus, in addition to 28 crew members. 67 out of 1,993 guests onboard the April 8 sailing on Royal Caribbean's Radiance of the Seas fell ill as well, along with two crew members.

8. One cruise line guarantees you'll see an Alaska glacier or your money back

Holland America Line has been sailing to Alaska for over 75 years, longer than any other cruise line. Not only are they the Alaskan cruise experts, but they are now guaranteeing that guests will see one or more glaciers on their cruise, or they can receive a Future Cruise Credit. The Glacier Guarantee™ applies to Alaska departures from now through September 2025 and entitles passengers who don't visit an Alaska glacier to receive a Future Credit Credit equal to 15% of their cruise fare.

9. Elevator or stairs on a cruise ship? Your choice could make you live longer, study finds

Just because you're on vacation doesn't mean you have to completely abandon your fitness goals.

This is especially true on cruises! From fitness centers to running tracks and plenty of stairs, it's easier than you think to stay active on your cruise. In fact, according to a new meta-analysis presented at a European Society of Cardiology conference, people who routinely climb stairs have about a 39% lower likelihood of death from heart disease compared to those who didn't climb stairs.

From interior staterooms to high-end suites, Carnival Cruise Line has a cabin for every cruiser.

Cruise.Blog writer Allie has recently begun to sail on Carnival Cruise Line and is always interested to see what their accommodations look like between ships and cabin types. Her last three cruises with Carnival were on the fleet’s newest and most exciting ships: Mardi Gras, Carnival Celebration, and Carnival Jubilee. She stayed in different cabin types for all three of these cruises and was interested to see how they compared.
